Guess where? Turns out it wasn't behind the couch like we had originally thought, but it was in fact, get this, in the sky! The full article is here which basically says that once we changed the type of light we were looking for, there they were. Pretty cool. Really shows the magnificence of the universe... because until now the universe was just so bland with it's super novas, and black holes, and dark matter.

Sarcasm, my dear friend, welcome back!

I came into work today and checked some of the sites I normally do for stuff to talk about for tonights show, specifically, Video Game News, and I saw one of the greatest t-shirts of all time. It actually made me laugh out loud (That's right, I spelled it out. I will never put the letters LOL together unless it's in the word... LOLipop... LOLigag... LOLapalooza...) For people who know the Mortal Kombat series of video games, this shirt is gold. I bought it instantly.

I've been writing a lot more lately. I used to write all the time in highschool, but after getting married and college and my daugther I kinda just stopped. I've been dealing with some serious personal issues lately and I've been writing a lot more as a result. Oh no! Radio Dave is talking serious to us! It's okay it's only for a second. And now we're back to fun town.

Weeeeeeeeee!

Rock Band Network

You guys all know what a strong supporter I am of Rock Band and the Rock Band Network; an extension on the core game that allows ANY AND EVERY ARTIST EVER to get their music in the game to be downloaded and played by millions. It's going to revolutionize music today, and do more for independant artists than the internet.

Well good news for those waiting to get some Christian tunes in the game. Demon Hunter's first single Collapsing from their new album The World is a Thorn released today, and MxPx's One Step Further dropped on the network last night. Two amazing songs that are a blast to listen to and I bet even more of a blast to play. I won't get a chance to play them until tonight. So if ya wanna get the tracks, just pop in the Rock Band (1 or 2) disc, load up the network (you may need to download an update first. It's automatic) and download the songs. They'll cost you some Microsoft Fun Bucks but it's well worth it in my opinion. I'll keep you up to date with anymore Christian tunes that hit the network as well.

And if you're interested in general market music as well, like I am, there's some great artists I'm in love with. From Third Eye Blind to Clutch. It's a grab bag of awesome on the Rock Band Network right now. If you wanna check out the up to date list yourself, here's the link.

This is all very exciting

Remember McDonald's Pizza?

I do. Jonathan and I were talking about it today. McDonald's Pizza! The individual sized ones. Happy Meal sized. Not the big ones. Havn't had those. But those tiny little pizzas were a glorious reason to go to McDonald's. Now you go for cardiac arrest, but back then it was for the pizza. Someone should really start a petition to get that back... there's probably a group for that on Facebook...

Speaking of which, why is there a group for everything on Facebook? "I woke up 5 minutes before my alarm went off and rather than get up, I closed my eyes for 5 minutes." I just made that up but I guarentee there's a group for it.

Now back to food I love being ripped away from my loving arms. The Garlic Twist Bread at Boston Pizza. Why did they take that away? Why? Why?! It's like the most popular food items at restaurants need to be destroyed to keep the company from getting too powerful. We're not talking Microsoft here. It's Boston Pizza! Give me my Garlic Twist Bread! I've heard rumors that it's coming back... but take that with a grain of salt.

So I love Fort McMurray. I'm actually from Botwood, Newfoundland (hurr hurr) but I love Fort Mac. Except for the drivers. People here cannot drive. It's like people are so used to driving the 4 hours to get here from Edmonton that their feet are so heavy they can't ease on the foot pedal. That didn't make sense but I'm not changing it. Maybe it's Toyotas fault. Someone should look into that. But not me. I'm just complaining. I think we just don't care. We're very apathetic here in Fort Mac it seems. Not just drivers, but people walking too. Jay-walking. Always. Everywhere I go I need to watch for people running across the street when there's a crosswalk 5 steps away from where they are. You really in that big a hurry? I don't really understand it. It's hard enough as a driver with all these people speeding and driving 20 foot high trucks like they're mini-coopers, weeving in and out of traffic, but now I need to watch for random bodies fluttering across the pavement. It's like playing Frogger only there aren't 3 lives and there's no frog.

So really I guess it's not like Frogger at all.

PS - I typed a reminder in my iPhone while driving down Franklyn so I'd remember to blog about bad drivers and jaywalkers. Irony?

Word up sportsfans, Radio Dave here.

So count this as blog number one. It's Thursday and I'm sitting in the studio prepping for tonight's show. Checking out some video game news. Looks like tonight we'll be talking about the Rock Band Network. (Launches today! Woot!) This is gonna change not only the music game industry, but the MUSIC INDUSTRY ITSELF! As an independant musician trying to find a way to get my band's music out there, this is very exciting. So what's up? Oh really? That's cool...

Here's what's up, email me folks. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Why? I'll tell you why. Because what's better than having your email read on the air and a song of your choice then being played... ok a lot of stuff but it's up there! So go ahead... I know you want to.

Let's see, news wise... well for those of you that don't know, our AWESOME Christian Metal show Rocktaine (Every Saturday at 11PM) is going through a change. Darren Aucoin has to step down as the host leaving me to host it. I'm cool with that. I love the music and the show but I'll miss Darren. He brought flava to the the show. So I'll be grabbing the reigns and hopefully we'll have a new co-host by Saturday night. (Stereo Broph is in talks to join me)

As for the Indie Spotlight, the show is really taking off. Theo and I are hearing from more indie bands looking to get on the show every week! We're actually backed up with bands severely! Haha. This week I'll be chatting with Selena Moss a great acoustic artist here in town. Love her voice. Got a really cool thing goin. And then next week it's Holden Daniels from My Sister Ocean, a genuine musician through and through. Lots of great bands coming your way in the future so keep your ears (and now your eyes I guess) peeled. We'll be releasing more info as we go ahead.

The Deadly Double Dare of the Day of the Month is really taking off. We're having a lot of fun doing it and the next dare is a group dare where each of us (Me, Theo, Jordan, Stereo Broph) dares another person in the group to do something. Going to be an intense episode once it's finished. INTENSSSSSSEEEEE!!!

So there you have it folks. Blog number 1. Stay tuned for number 2?
