On November 15, 2006, the CRTC made the decision to approve an application by King’s Kids Promotions for a broadcasting license to operate a new music FM station in Fort McMurray.  That station will operate at 91.1MHz as well as streaming on the World Wide Web. It will offer a Hot Adult Contemporary and a Hit Radio music format targeting listeners between 16 and 40 years of age. The station will draw top 40 music from both general and Christian markets.                             

KAOS is not just another radio station but owned and operated by a registered Canadian charity and people now living in your community.  The vision of KAOS Radio is to “expose hope through music, talk, and action”.  KAOS is the only local station focused on serving the tastes of 16-40 year olds with particular emphasis on reaching the young adult.

During daytime hours the station caters to a 25-40 audience with its mix of Contemporary music and friendly, more mature approach from it’s announce staff. In the evenings, KAOS 91.1 reaches a slightly younger audience by playing more Contemporary Hit and Top 40 Rock Radio music.  Our research indicated that our average listener is approximately 29 years of age.

Featured artists include: U2, Coldplay, Simple Plan, Thousand Foot Krutch, Hawk Nelson, Kelly Clarkson, Melissa O’Neil, Life House, Jack Johnson, Third Day, Great Big Sea, Casting Crowns, Super Chick, Kalan Porter, Jeremy Camp, and more.

KAOS will be a fun, relevant radio station with a positive message presented by a team of young, professional and entertaining announcers that can clearly identify and communicate with the station’s listeners.
