Since June 07 KAOS Radio has been promoting the traditional values which have been foundational in building a strong Wood Buffalo Region, through our vision of “Exposing Hope through Music talk and Action”. Our strong launch is a result of strong community support from people who believe in healthy media.

Given that many people spend approximately 6.2 – 7 hours a day engaged in media; it is becoming increasingly evident why healthy communities are paying more attention to the media this generation is consuming than ever before. Healthy media is part of a healthy community!

During the days the station caters to a 25-54 audience with its variety of Adult Contemporary music and friendly, more mature approach from its announce staff. In the evenings, KAOS 91.1reaches a slightly younger audience by playing a blend of Contemporary Hit & Top 40 Rock Radio music. Our research indicates that our average listener is approximately 34 year old Christian female

KAOS Radio is a fun, relevant radio station with a positive message presented by a team of professional and entertaining announcers that can clearly identify and communicate with the station’s listeners.

KAOS RADIO is full of “social enterprise” through our KAOS community initiatives whichinclude partnerships with the education, business, social service, public health and religious sectors. We are involved in supporting local talent and Media Literacy designed to increase student awareness of media impact, and so much more. Some recent successes have been the KAOS KAFÉ, at InterPlay and the KAOS REPO CO, a street team which hit the streets of Fort McMurray during the summer of 2008.

The KAOS sales culture is rooted in partnership and collaboration, where each customer relationship is approached as a joint venture aimed at achieving mutual satisfaction. At KAOS we choose to serve all religious communities, and have worked closely in the past with the Islamic, the Catholic, the Christian community and many of the social service agencies in the Wood Buffalo region. There are approximately 30 faith based communities in the Fort McMurray area and they serve approximately 25,000 - 30,000 individuals in the greater Wood Buffalo Region who have a faith background.

KAOS prides itself on being the only station which offers a “family friendly guarantee” and non churched people listen as well. We have a strong appeal to the elderly, more established people in our community because of our talk programs with authors Charles Stanley and Chuck Swindol. We serve adult listeners as well as the younger demographic with our night programming.

Dear KAOS Staff: It is indeed a blessing to have a Christian radio station in the Mac.  I get to listen to 91.1 every AM and PM driving to and from work, and occasionally in the evenings.  So often, especially in the morning around 8:00 AM I’m rushing to work; my mind is rushing even faster than my driving, and I may not be particularly pleased with certain aspects of my job or life, responding to circumstance rather than truth.   Then along comes Dr. Stanley and jerks my mind back to reality and thinking true thoughts in line with God’s Word, and suddenly my day ’has a chance’ and my spirit is rejoicing.  As a High School teacher, believe me, that is important!

Why Faith Based Radio?

Simmons Market Research reports that 72% of Christian radio listeners prefer to buy from a business that advertises on a Christian radio station. And 62% say that they would "shop more at a known business if it advertised on Christian radio."

The interesting thing is that these statistics are not just a snapshot in time from a fluke survey. These same loyalty factors have held up well for the last two and a half decades. The "halo effect" of this unique market has weathered a variety of economic conditions and global marketing shifts from the impact of Cable TV to the arrival of Internet advertising.
