As the Municipality moves forward on the Willow Square "Ageing In Place" facility, you are invited to a learning event and discussion relevant to ageing and housing. This meeting will be taking place from 12-3pm at the Golden Years Society (10111 Main Street) on Thursday, May 10th. Lunch will be served.
Topics of Discussion:
- Current research on gerontology: the study of older people and the issues of an ageing society (Gail Hinchliffe will be speaking)
- Developmental stages in the ageing process
- Importance of housing for seniors
What makes a healthy "ageing in place" facility
- How to integrate "ageing in place" facilities in an urban environment
At the meeting, the Municipality will provide a status update on the Willow Square Ageing In Place facility.
