A 21-year-old man is facing several charges after an incident on Sunday in that left three people injured. Wood Buffalo RCMP say an altercation ensued after a female called several people to her house following an argument with someone else there. Two males suffered non-life threatening injuries in the scuffle, while a 33-year-old man was taken to hospital with several stab wounds. He's listed in critical condition. Cody Thomas Slade was arrested and charged with a number of offenses. Wood Buffalo’s annual winter celebration, WinterPlay with hit the region in a couple weeks. This year WinterPlay 2012 will take place over nearly three weeks, starting Feb. 14 and running through to March 4. According to the Fort McMurray Catholic School District website, the district is currently looking for public submissions on what to name a new school coming to Eagle Ridge with construction expected for 2014. Name submissions must be sent to the New School Naming Committee by Feb. 1st. Russia is denying that two more of its diplomats have left Canada for any other reason than routine posting changes. Media reports say a defence attache in Ottawa and a consulate worker in Toronto are back in Russia amid an unfolding Canadian spy scandal involving a naval intelligence officer in Halifax. Four other Russian Embassy staff left their Canadian posts earlier this month. Moscow also says none of those departures were expulsions either. Canadian Sub-Lieutenant Jeffrey Delisle was charged a few weeks ago with leaking information to a "foreign entity'' and breach of trust. It looks like a majority of Canadians managed to keep their 2011 holiday spending within budget. An R-B-C survey released today found concern about debt levels was the top reason 69 per cent of holiday shoppers stayed on track. But the poll also found 31 per cent spent more than intended during the holidays -- and women were more likely to go over budget than men. Those who overspent did so by an average of 467 dollars. All-star captains Daniel Alfredson of the Senators and Zdeno Chara of the Bruins will meet as Ottawa visits Boston. Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski did not practise yesterday because of his high left ankle sprain suffered during the Patriots' victory over the Ravens in the AFC Championship game. Coach Bill Belichick says Gronkowski is listed as day to day. New England will take on the New York Giants in Super Bowl 46 on Sunday. The annual Super Bowl sideshow known as Media Day is scheduled for today at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The league has issued around 2,000 credentials and is selling tickets for the first time.
